What God Told Me For 2024: A Year Of Chaos
Predictable Prophetic Words
For just about every year since I became a Christian, someone had a catchy slogan or theme for the next year. “Spiritually alive” in any year ending in the number five was popular as was a scripture verse or passage that was particularly uplifting. Anyone proclaiming a verse would almost surely avoid Matthew 27:5:
So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. (NIV)
Interestingly enough words were given in 2019 for 2020 and there were some common threads about the prophetic exploding, which did happen and some predicted a Trump victory which didn’t happen. No one other than Robin Bullock talked about the pandemic, which I still think is odd. And if you’re into conspiracies, the best prophet predicting the pandemic was Bill Gates.
But now we live in a time when prophetic words are more easily found than common sense so hearing what words are being told us for 2024 can be a good thing. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I am hearing that 2024 will be a chaotic year. Allow me to flesh that out for you.
Chaos From Information
When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he stopped a trend of social media being run and controlled by people who were hardly conservative and definitely not Christian or even religious. Posts that are seen regularly on X would have been blocked before he made the purchase. And accounts that were banned, some for life are not active again. But before we celebrate too much, the vast majority of these sites are still censoring posts and accounts and will probably only clamp down more with the 2024 election coming up. God is letting me know that the battle for the news is only going to get worse, not better. There will be those in the media world who will build walls against the truth and even try and find ways to even control the servers the alternate media sites use. The fight over truth will be chaotic and people will get caught up in the fight and it will spill out into the highways and the byways. Whole businesses will take sides on being “right” and employees will find themselves having to be on that “right” side or leave, or worse be told to leave unless they enter counseling programs meant to change their beliefs. Neutrality will be a thing of the past.
Chaos In The Political World
Now some would say that we are already at this point, but no matter how bad you think the chaos is now in government, prepare for it to get to a point where politicians and the people who support them will decide to go for the jugular with those they disagree with. Logic and reasoning will be replaced by feelings and philosophies that suit them and they will make power grabs so bold and so brash that even those who agree with them will see it for what it is. Strategies to remove people from power will be used that will turn the judicial system upside down with a chaotic flurry of illegal and frivolous lawsuits during the summer of 2024 that are intended to tie up campaigns, politically, financially, and monetarily. But all of this will pale in comparison to the information that will come out on politicians and their collaborators, information that was hidden and suppressed for years and even decades. People from all political stripes will not know who they can trust anymore throwing the elections of 2024 into a tizzy. And people from both sides of the aisle will not trust that their votes can be trusted, too. It’s going to be chaos at the polls.
Chaos In The Churches
And this is the last place you want to see it, but no place will be safe from the chaotic spirits swirling around our country and even the world. This anarchic influence will begin to dominate pulpits and congregations with houses of worship needed to even hire outside security to keep people from losing their cool with even the people sitting next to them in the pews. Any topic will set them off and people will almost demonically rail against anyone. Brother will be against brother, sister against sister just as the Bible prophesies. The most chaotic of these will be the growing division over Israel and the spirits that drive antisemitism will run rampant in the houses of worship. Sermons will even be preached deriding the Jews for killing women, children, and the elderly. The great delusion that will be in full force in the Tribulation will get stronger and stronger and affect even the elect. Only Holy Spirit moving in true believers will keep the religious spirit from causing full chaos in the church. Liberal theology will replace Biblical theology and all manner of sinful lifestyles will be seen even in usually righteous denominations and fellowships. The seeds for this chaos have been planted for years, but the chaotic weeds will bloom in 2024.
What Can We Do?
Whether I’m right or partially right, the same foundation that saved the world before and the solid rock that saves in the midst of any storm is the Bible. If there was ever a time to study the Word it is now. Make 2024 the year of the Bible in your life. It will help guard you against the spirit of chaos lurking in your life, community, and church. If you read the Bible through in a year, increase that to 6 months or even every 60 days. Your spiritual, mental, and emotional health will depend on it. Perfect peace is what we will need and that comes from those whose minds are steadfastly stayed on Him. It sounds too simple, but a simple plan is just what is needed in a time where chaos rules. Chaos by its very nature is meant to make stable times unstable, make clear thinkers into rambling lunatics, and make strong relationships into hectic, erratic, and hateful ones. Keeping the peace will only come when the Prince of Peace is firmly rooted in our very DNA. The Word must be in us, over us and come out of us. Hide His word in your hearts so that you don’t fall into the traps of sin. And may the Word control our tongues and be a light for our paths as we have to make even life-changing decisions. It may not rhyme, but let 2024 be the year His children be the calm ones in a chaotic world.
