Israel At War Day 627

A Small Window Of Time

Just A Little Response

As expected Iran attacked a US military base in Qatar as we read in a report from The Jerusalem Post:

US President Donald Trump confirmed that Iran gave advanced notice ahead of an attack on American bases in Qatar and Iraq, which he called a "very weak response" in a social media post late Monday night.

Trump hinted that the Iranian attack was meant to make the regime safe face. He hopes that they aren’t needing to attack again:

"I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their 'system,' and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE," the president wrote on Truth Social.

In a sarcastic twist of phrase, the US president said this:

"I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same."

He then turned to Qatar who no doubt wants Iran to surrender:

Trump also expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar in a later post and shared, "CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!"

There was little need for concern as the US defense systems had things totally under control:

The president confirmed that 14 Iranian missiles were fired at US bases, with 13 of them "knocked down" and one allowed to land in an open area.

Iran launched ballistic missiles towards US bases across the Middle East on Monday evening, including US Central Command (CENTCOM)'s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, and Ain al-Asad Air Base in Iraq.

Iran’s military justified the strikes this way:

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-controlled Fars News released a statement defending the attack, by referring to it as a reaction to "the blatant military aggression of the United States against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the clear violation of international law."

Iran previously threatened attacks on any countries it perceived to be providing military support to Israel during Operation Rising Lion. The US struck several Iranian nuclear sites after the beginning of the operation - which led to Iranian officials justifying attacks on US assets in the region.

Overall the strikes were all show and no sizzle and reminds us of when Iran did the same thing after the US assassinated Qassem Soleimani back in 2020. Then Iran also told the US about the attacks beforehand so there would be no damage. But back then Iran told the US about their strikes in response to his killing just like they warned the US and Qatar about these strikes now. In short, Iran just needed to save face and the hopes are that they will seriously consider surrender. But I doubt it. It’s time for a military coup.

Israel Attacks Could Be Done

In an article from The Times Of Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu is talking about ending their air campaign on Iran in a few days:

Israel is reportedly looking to wrap up its bombing campaign against Iran after the US joined its strikes against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear sites, and has conveyed as much in a message to Tehran via mediators.

Israel will continue to strike while the iron is hot:

The Wall Street Journal, citing Israeli and Arab officials, reported that Jerusalem is seeking to seize on the accomplishments of the US strikes on facilities in Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan to end the war in the coming days.

Arab countries are conveying a US message to Iran that Israel would prefer to end the attacks:

Arab officials told The Journal that the US has told Arab partners to pass the message to Iran that Israel is looking to end the operation — which it launched 10 days ago — soon. However, according to the officials, Iran still feels it has to respond to Sunday’s US strikes.

Israel wants diplomacy to be next, though:

The newspaper reported that Israeli officials are hoping Tehran will agree to restart diplomacy on its nuclear program in the wake of the conflict.

Israel could meet their objectives very soon:

According to Channel 12 news, Israel believes it will reach its military objectives for Operation Rising Lion — removing the Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile threat from Israel — in the next few days.

On Sunday, an Israeli official told The Times of Israel that Jerusalem is willing to end the bombing campaign if Iran agrees to dismantle its nuclear program. “It depends on Iran, not on us,” the official said. “We are happy to wrap it up now; if there’s an agreement at the end, Israel will be content with the result.”

Simple options are seen but only if Iran stops attacking israel::

There are two options for ending the campaign itself, Channel 12 reported: Israel can unilaterally declare it has achieved its war aims, and Iran will subsequently end its missile strikes; or the US can announce that both sides have agreed to a ceasefire, something Israel sees as less desirable. If Iran does not stop firing at Israel, the Walla news site reported on Monday, Israel will intensify its strikes with a focus on undermining the regime. The strikes carried out Monday on high-profile regime targets in the heart of Tehran were meant to preview what Israel may do if Iran doesn’t agree to stop firing at Israel, according to the report.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is thought to be the one in the way. But they are talking about rebuilding the program. Israel will simply not allow that to happen:

On Sunday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was very close to achieving its goals in Iran, having inflicted significant damage both to the ballistic missile program and nuclear facilities. He promised not to let Israel be dragged into a “war of attrition” with the Islamic Republic but stressed that this did not mean he would be prepared to end the campaign before all its objectives had been met. “We won’t pursue our actions beyond what is needed to achieve [the goals], but we also won’t finish too soon,” Netanyahu said. “When the objectives are achieved, then the operation is complete and the fighting will stop… we are moving step by step towards achieving these goals. We are very, very close to completing them.”
