Israel At War – Day 101
The Prophetic Timeline Is Heating Up
Jihad Of The Sword
Speaking at a gathering of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, the official spokesman of Hamas called on all Muslims to not just speak about jihad as we read in a report from CBN.com:
Ismail Haniyeh, the de facto leader of the group, regarded by the United States and the European Union as a terrorist organization, spoke at a meeting of the International Union of Muslim Scholars. That's a group of Islamic theologians that acts as the supreme authority of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization, according to The Daily Signal.
Haniyeh lives in Doha, Qatar where the meeting was held. According to a translation of his address by the Middle East Media Research Institute, the Hamas leader tried to get the attention of Muslims worldwide when he referred to the group's current war with Israel, telling them, "There is verbal Jihad, which is Jihad by the tongue, but indeed, the time has come for Jihad of the swords. This is the battle for Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and not the battle of the Palestinian people, or Gaza, or the people in Gaza."
"The people of Gaza constitute our frontline trench for defense, as well as for offense," he said. "They are not there only to defend, but also to attack. What was October 7 if not a frontline trench for an offensive by our nation? We must not let this moment slip away."
If you listen to all the rhetoric put out by these terrorists you can more than read between the lines here. Jerusalem is in Israel and is their capitol. Haniyeh mentioned that their tenacity changed the way they are being viewed:
"Time is on our side. At the beginning of this aggression, the Americans were waving a big stick in the face of the world, and even in the Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim communities in some European countries—some of their prominent Palestinian or Arab figures were summoned and were told not to raise the Palestinian flag or do anything," Haniyeh said.
"But the language of the same countries has now changed. Why has it changed? Because of the {Palestinian} steadfastness. Were it not for this steadfastness, the conscience of the world would have been crushed. Brothers, we should build on this steadfastness. We should hold on to the victory that took place on October 7 and build upon it," he urged.
Send Them Money
As we read further in this report, Haniyeh urged followers to also send money to help the war:
Then Haniyeh switched gears, trying to get Muslims to fund Hamas' fight with "financial jihad—waging jihad with one's life and money."
"The second issue is the call to donate money. Dear brothers and sisters, let us call this 'financial Jihad.' The Islamic nation does not make 'donations,'" the terror leader said. "This is not just a humanitarian issue, despite its immense importance and Gaza's need for any aid it can get. This is financial Jihad. We should revive this principle of Islamic jurisprudence in our Islamic nation—the notion of waging Jihad with one's life and one's money."
Is it possible that funds are drying up because of the sanctions against them after the attacks of 10/7? It certainly isn’t helping:
Last month, the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed its fourth round of sanctions against Hamas since the Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel. Working in conjunction with the United Kingdom, the OFAC's action targeted 16 key leaders of the terror group who perpetuate Hamas's violent agenda by representing the group's interests abroad and managing its finances.
Could Hamas be feeling the pinch in the pocketbook? That remains to be seen since it and other terror groups now have social media networks to help spread their violent messages and to help them in fundraising. Treasury and State Department officials have also said Iran is a major funding source for Hamas, according to CNBC.
This is not the first time Hamas has asked its followers to send money. Just three days after the Oct. 7 terror attack, Khaled Mashal, the group's former political director urged Muslims worldwide to fund Hamas' fight, saying give "aid, money and all that you have," according to The Washington Post.
The outlet reported within days, that groups accused of raising money for al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and Hamas's military wing had activated their old fundraising networks, raising millions of dollars, according to former U.S. counterterrorism officials.
Turkey Continues To Oppose Israel
For those who know Bible prophecy, the opposition to Israel and support for Muslims fits the list of nations who will come against Israel in the War of Gog and Magog. In an article from the web site The Friends Of Israel we read this on that future war:
Two other participants are named in this group, Meshech and Tubal, both of which are included in the table of nations in Genesis 10. Scholars agree that Meshech refers to the location of modern Turkey, southeast of the Black Sea. Tubal is always grouped with Meshech and his descendants also occupy modern Turkey. Modern Turkey is increasingly dominated by Islam, moving further away from ties to Europe. It seems that Turkey also participates in this invasion of Israel, joining with the Russian contingent.
In the past, Turkey was more moderate and pro-western and Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel had a fairly good relationship with them. However, has all changed as we see in these comments from an article from i24news.tv shortly after the attacks on the Houthis in Yemen:
After voicing his opinions on those strike, he then showed his support of the genocide charges leveled against Israel by South Africa:
In another development, Erdogan announced that Turkey is actively contributing to the case brought by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The case alleges that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinian civilians during the conflict with Hamas in Gaza.
"I believe that Israel will be convicted there. We believe in the justice of the International Court of Justice," Erdogan stated during the press conference.
Turkey is submitting various documents, primarily visual evidence, to support the allegations against Israel.
Penalty Kick Against An Israeli Soccer Player
Turkey took swift action against an Israeli soccer player who showed his support of the hostages held in Israel as we read in an article from The Times Of Israel:
An Israeli soccer player detained in Turkey over an on-field gesture to hostages held by terrorists in Gaza fled the country on Monday, as Israeli ministers blasted Ankara as an accomplice of Hamas, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a “full-on Nazi,” and Turkey as a “dark dictatorship.”
Jehezkel celebrated his equalizer goal in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Trabzonspor in the top Turkish league by making a heart sign with his hands to the camera and showing his wristband, which had the words “100 days. October 7” along with a Star of David symbol. The 132 hostages remaining in captivity in the Strip have been held there for 100 days after being kidnapped by Hamas-led terrorists on October 7.
Again, showing the current disdain for all things Israel we read more:
The gesture did not go down well in Turkey, a country that hosts top Hamas officials and whose leaders have taken a highly hostile approach against Israel during the ongoing war.
Israel responded quickly:
Israel furiously condemned Jehezkel’s detention, sending already strained relations between the two regional powers to a new low.
Public comments by Israeli leaders also showed the divide is very strong:
“When there was an earthquake in Turkey less than a year ago, Israel was the first country to stand up and extend aid that saved the lives of many Turkish citizens,” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant wrote on X. “The scandalous arrest of the soccer player Sagiv Jehezkel is an expression of hypocrisy and ingratitude. Through its actions, Turkey serves as the executive arm of Hamas.”
Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, an ultranationalist politician, charged that “Turkey acts toward Israeli players, and toward anything with a whiff of Israeliness, with Nazism.
“Erdogan is a full-on Nazi,” he said. “I call on Israelis not to travel to Turkey, not to buy any Turkish products and not to financially support them. The State of Israel and Israeli citizens must not act with forgiveness toward Turkey. We won’t let ourselves be trampled on.”
Another Israeli soccer player is also under fire as well for a post on social media supporting that we “bring them home” in relationship to the hostages. If there was ever a time when Turkey would join with other nations to wipe out Israel, it is now. I say all this to once again encourage us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The prophetic timeline is heating up folks.
