How Close Was WWIII?

Many are watching what happened in Poland in relation to Russia and of course the whole reaction of a drone attack on a NATO nation as we see in an article from Channel News Asia:

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Friday (Sep 12) that this week's drone incursions into his country's airspace were not a mistake by Russia, despite US President Donald Trump's suggestion that the incident could have been accidental.

Tusk said the quiet part out loud:

"We would also wish that the drone attack on Poland was a mistake. But it wasn't. And we know it," Tusk said on X.

This article is talking about events that occurred last week:

Early on Wednesday, Poland shot down drones in its airspace with the backing of military aircraft from its NATO allies, the first time a member of the Western military alliance is known to have fired shots during Russia's war in Ukraine.

Another Polish official weighed in:

Earlier on Friday, deputy defence minister Cezary Tomczyk also commented on Trump's comment.

"I think this is a message that should reach President Trump today: there's no question of a mistake - this was a deliberate Russian attack," he told local TV broadcaster Polsat News.

The Polish Foreign Minister also gave us his thoughts and he also thinks what happened was planned:

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who visits Kyiv on Friday, also responded to Trump's words.

"On the night that 19 Russian drones crossed into Poland, 400 (drones) plus 40 missiles crossed into Ukraine. These were not mistakes," he said in a video posted on X.

Of course I always want to address any Bible prophecy perspectives in all of this and although I’d like to say Poland is involved specifically I really can’t. If you want the Biblical name for Poland, well if you find it you’re a better theologian than I am. However when you talk about a revived Roman empire being Europe then you can make a case. And a pretty strong one really. Poland lies north of Israel, which matches the repeated phrase in Ezekiel: “from the uttermost parts of the north” (Ezek. 38:15). Poland’s geopolitical location between Russia (often linked with Magog) and Western Europe puts it on the fault line if such an invasion involved NATO/EU nations. Historical migrations (Scythians, Cimmerians, Goths) moved through territories that overlap modern Poland, leading some interpreters to stretch Gomer/Togarmah into Central Europe. But when it comes down to it the Bible itself doesn’t name Poland. Ancient sources (Josephus) link Magog to the Scythians in lands near Eastern Europe. Modern prophecy commentators (Lindsey, Missler, Walvoord) suggest Magog’s reach could extend into Eastern/Central Europe, making Poland a possible secondary participant in the Ezekiel 38 coalition.
