Israel At War Day 674

More Insanity

Not Again

I’ve reported on all the twists and turns of the war in Israel and I can tell you that this whole trying to stop the IDF from going into an area of Gaza, Lebanon, or even Iran is Deja Vue all over again. Remember when all the commotion was how Israel can’t go into Rafah? I do. Thankfully Israel didn’t heed those warnings. Then they said going into Lebanon was a very bad idea. Again, Israel did it anyway and Hezbollah was dealt a very big setback. Of course Israel was told to not retaliate against Iran and take the win of stopping their missile attacks. Now Iran is licking its wounds from the 12 day assault which included the US offensive that severely damaged their nuclear program. So now Israel has a plan to take over Gaza City and the whole world is screaming for them to not do it as we read in a report from The Jerusalem Post:

Mediators for a hostage and ceasefire deal are rushing to reach an agreement ahead of Israel's operation that would take over Gaza City, Asharq News reported on Saturday, citing informed sources.

Rushing? Really? Hamas stalls and stalls and then Israel makes plans to attack their remaining strongholds and now the world scrambles to stop it from happening. Common sense really isn’t all that common anymore I guess. But I digress. Still we hear this:

The Saudi-based news source cited sources claiming there are talks discussing a package of proposals to end the war, which includes the release of the remaining 50 hostages and a complete IDF withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. The discussions also mentioned the exile of some Hamas military wing leaders and the establishment of a technocratic government to manage the Strip, supported by a police force.

We’ve been down this same road before and it led nowhere and somehow Hamas will magically agree to things they rejected over and over again. These terrorists have a long track record of stalling until they can strengthen themselves or the international pressure put on Israel makes them give in to their ridiculous demands. My feeling is that those hopes are not going to happen:

The sources claimed that the mediators, who comprise US, Egyptian, and Qatari officials, have begun discussing these proposals with each other before conveying them to the two sides. The sources claimed there's a possibility of an agreement. The sources made additional claims, such as Hamas showing flexibility to reach an agreement.

And yet the US is sending Witkoff again to try and get a deal that will increase his boss’ Nobel Peace prize creds. A little reminder to them would be watching the video and pictures from October 7th of 2023. Hamas can never and I mean never have any power again. Tell these negotiators that Israel will end the war when Hamas admits to the massacre and publicly apologize to all they killed, injured and are now starving. Then have them recognize Israel’s right to live on the land and exist as a nation. Have them also agree to remove killing all Jews from their charter. I highly doubt that will happen. And yet somehow they want Gaza to remain in the hands of people who are raised to hate Israel and all Jews. And I’m not talking about Hamas either. Qatar funds and hosts Hamas leaders to this day. Egypt is no better. This rant is brought to you by someone who actually listens and reads what these Arab nations say about Israel.

The Definition Of Insanity

Although no one knows exactly who coined the phrase it fits these upcoming talks:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. These talks could be the best example of that adage as everyone is getting more frequent flyer miles to stay in expensive hotels, eat lavish meals and see no deal happen. Again:

White House special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani on Saturday to discuss plans for the end of the Gaza war, a source familiar with the details confirmed to The Jerusalem Post. The meeting was first reported in Axios. Witkoff and al-Thani were reportedly going to discuss plans to end the war in Gaza and release the remaining 50 hostages, less than half of whom are presumed to be alive after over 650 days in Hamas captivity. The source said the pair would take at least a week to formulate a new outline.

A week to offer Hamas a lifeline they hardly deserve. They release videos of two hostages who are near death from starvation and then want mercy and a chance to live longer. Israel is willing to come to an agreement, though:

An Israeli official stressed that Jerusalem would have no issue making a new deal, but expressed skepticism that Hamas would accept an agreement, Axios reported.

"Our war is with Hamas, not with the US," the official said. "The gap between Israel and Hamas regarding ending the war is huge, so talking of a comprehensive deal is likely to be pointless at this stage."

Exactly. Meanwhile Qatar and Egypt are creating a new offer for Hamas. I doubt it will match what I came up with earlier, though:

The meeting between Witkoff and al-Thani followed discussions between Qatar and Egypt on a new ceasefire-hostage deal proposal.

Of course this deal would allow their buddies Hamas to survive. Typical for them:

The Egypt-Qatar proposal would see the release of all hostages, both living and deceased, at once, in return for an end to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, The Associated Press reported on Friday, citing two Arab officials.

This part is laughable as well:

One of the issues holding up the Egypt-Qatar plan is reportedly Hamas’s disarmament. Current discussions center around “freezing” Hamas’s weaponry so that it can hold on to it but not use it. It also calls for Hamas to relinquish its power over Gaza.

Freezing the weapons? As if these terrorists won’t take advantage of that. As for giving up power, as long as they live there they will run it. As for this next part the phrase can a leopard change its spots comes to mind:

The new framework proposes having a Palestinian-Arab committee run Gaza and oversee reconstruction efforts until a new Palestinian administration with a police force is established. Hamas said on Thursday that the terror group would treat any force formed to govern Gaza as an "occupying" force linked to Israel.

Truly insanity. Mark my words, those offers aren’t going anywhere. Israel, move into Gaza city and Deir Al Balah, rescue the hostages and end this war. And then annex it all. God gave them this land and no one but Israel should govern it.
