Israel At War Day 666

Don’t Reward Hamas

No Partial Deals

After the latest attempts to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas failed, Israel and the US will work with each other exclusively to form a plan going forward as we’re told in an article from World News Israel:

After hostage deal negotiations came to a complete halt and Hamas indicated it is no longer interested in considering new proposals, the U.S. and Israel may join forces in a “comprehensive plan” for Gaza.

Unlike in the past US administration this one actually supports Israel in tangible ways. And one area of agreement is on getting all the hostages back with another being giving Hamas the boot in Gaza:

A senior Israeli official told reporters on Thursday, “There will be no more partial deals,” adding that the two countries were finding a way to “shift from a framework for the release of some of the hostages to a framework for the release of all of the hostages, the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.”

Another area to address jointly is the issue of humanitarian aid in the midst of the war:

The official continued, “At the same time, Israel and the U.S. will work to increase the humanitarian aid, while continuing the fighting in Gaza.”

It is very apparent that Hamas needed an edge and pushing the starvation false narrative is doing the trick:

Last week, Hamas sent its negotiators back from Gaza, saying that they are not considering any hostage release proposals, claiming a food crisis in the Gaza Strip.

As always the major issue is over ending the war which Israel will not relent on its goal of Hamas being destroyed and Hamas wanting to survive:

The sticking point between Hamas and Israel was over ending the war, with Israel insisting that it have the option of continuing the war after a 60-day cease-fire and hostage release, and the terror group demanding a permanent end to the war. In addition, Israel has insisted that Hamas not be allowed to rule the Gaza Strip and be forced to disarm, conditions the terror group has refused.

So far only vague details are known:

Although Israeli officials indicated that a plan between the U.S. and Israel was being discussed, no details were revealed.

The two previous ceasefires did see many hostages released but also saw thousands of terrorists released from prison to join Hamas in fighting against Israel. Finally the US is going to help Israel end Hamas once and for all, end the war, and get the 20 remaining living hostages returned to their loved ones.

Not Helping

As see in a report from CBN.com the US is still trying to get a ceasefire deal done, but many think that the countries threatening Israel with recognition of a Palestinian state isn’t improving an agreement happening at all:

President Donald Trump's Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Israel Thursday as more countries are jumping on the bandwagon to recognize a Palestinian state if Israel does not quickly end the war in Gaza. Witkoff is expected to focus on humanitarian aid and brokering a clear path to a ceasefire. He arrived in Israel as the Gaza conflict reaches a fever pitch.

While the US is trying to stabilize the region, others are imposing a two-state solution on Israel:

This week, a wave of countries announced they would recognize a Palestinian state if the war doesn't end soon. Canada followed France and the U.K. in the statehood decision. Germany is taking a wait-and-see approach. West Bank Palestinian resident Suha Othman said, "Regarding Canada's recognition, for me, this is an achievement for us because all the countries have started; France was the first, then Canada, and Spain. It's clear that we have reached a broader understanding of the Palestinian cause."

Statements like that are music to the ears of Hamas who would love nothing more than a permanent nation for Gazans in which they are then running. It in effect is a reward for the attacks on October 7th of 2023. And it encourages more hostile attacks in the future since they got what they wanted. And I’m not the only person who sees it this way:

Israel doesn't see it that way, and the Netanyahu government has sharply criticized the European states and Canada for granting rewards to Hamas for the October 7th, 2023, terror attacks.

And another tactic that is helping Hamas is the so-called starving of Gazans:

Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday and is touring Gaza with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee on Friday to inspect the distribution of aid.

Fortunately US President Trump knows who is in the way of aid:

Delivering more food to Gazans is their first order of business. President Trump told NBC News that "good management" will prevent the theft of aid by Hamas and its supporters.

One prominent Israeli knows full well that Israel isn’t starving anyone, but the lamestream press wants you to think they are:

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter angrily rejected the charge. "I mean, for crying out loud," he exclaimed, "You want to blame us for conducting a war while we are providing as much humanitarian aid as possible?"

Leiter added, "Hamas is using this propaganda to score points with the international community, and, like a social contagion, everybody is picking this up."

Case in point: The New York Times admitting they knew the photo of an emaciated child in their front page article on Gaza starvation last Friday wasn't relevant because he had a pre-existing medical condition, but ran the story anyway.

The Real Solution

US President Trump knows exactly how to end this “crisis:”

Trump posted, "The fastest way to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is for Hamas to surrender and release the hostages."

And he’s not alone on that. Getting the hostages back essentially ends the war for Hamas. Hostage families are hoping that the US and Israel can make that occur:

Relatives of Israeli hostages, 50 of whom are still in captivity, took to the streets of Jerusalem on Thursday. They're depending on Trump, Witkoff, and Netanyahu to make something happen.

One relative has a strong opinion about that:

Dalia Cusnihorn, the sister-in-law of one Israeli hostage, told CBN News, "This is the most Jewish thing to do. This is the most Christian thing to do. This is the only correct thing to do. Finish the war and bring back the 50 hostages."

Those advocating for the releases of those held captive may not like how the PM is doing things, but they certainly aren’t pleased by the calls for a Palestinian state either:

The demonstrators have been staunchly opposed to the way Netanyahu has handled the war in Gaza, but now that more countries are joining the U.K., France, and others in recognizing a Palestinian state, it's forcing them to rethink their position, understanding that it creates a slippery and dangerous slope.

Another relative agrees that Hamas enjoys calls for such a state:

Shay Dickman, the cousin of a murdered Israeli hostage, told us, "This is my fear – that this is rewarding them (the Palestinians) while there are still hostages."

And one person who knows a thing or two about Hamas has a unique perspective on statehood:

As for statehood, Mosab Hassan Yousef, an outspoken Hamas critic and the son of one of its co-founders, summed it up by saying, "October 7th didn't happen because Palestinians were denied a state; it happened because they were given a state."

Going back to a hostage relative cited earlier we see the problem framed this way:

Cusnihorn reflected, "When you're declaring a Palestinian state while there are still hostages in Gaza, you are saying to all the terror organizations in the world, 'Do you want to have an independent state? Go ahead. Enter to a sovereign country. Abduct, kill, slaughter people, burn babies, rape women – and then the entire world will be with you and will declare your new nation.' Is this the world we want to live in?"

To answer her question, the answer is no.
