Israel At War Day 623
Hard To Read
Time To Stall
We learn from a report in The Jerusalem Post that US President Donald Trump will take more time to decide if the US will get involved in Israel’s attack on Iran:
The White House said on Thursday that President Donald Trump will make a decision on whether the US will get involved in the Israel-Iran conflict in the next two weeks.
During a press briefing the White House Press Secretary gave us more details:
Citing a message from Trump, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters: "Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks."
She went on to note that while talks could happen the ultimate goal remains the same:
Leavitt told a regular briefing that Trump was interested in pursuing a diplomatic solution with Iran, but his top priority was ensuring that Iran could not obtain a nuclear weapon.
She said any deal would have to prohibit enrichment of uranium by Tehran and eliminate Iran's ability to achieve a nuclear weapon.
Leavitt mentioned that Trump’s first inclination to peace, but he isn’t afraid of using force:
"The president is always interested in a diplomatic solution ...he is a peacemaker in chief. He is the peace through strength president. And so if there's a chance for diplomacy, the president's always going to grab it,"
Leavitt said. "But he's not afraid to use strength as well I will add."
She said her boss didn’t say if he is asking Congress for approval:
Leavitt declined to say if Trump would seek congressional authorization for any strikes on Iran. She said Washington remained convinced that Iran had never been closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon.
While Trump is mulling over his next move Iran blatantly hit a hospital:
Leavitt said Trump had been briefed on the Israeli operation on Thursday and Iran would face grave consequences if it did not agree to halt its work on a nuclear weapon.
I don’t know who is advising him to wait, but overall he is hard to read:
Trump has kept the world guessing on possible US involvement in the war, veering from proposing a swift diplomatic solution to suggesting the US might join the fighting. On Wednesday, he said nobody knew what he would do. A day earlier he mused on social media about killing Khamenei, then demanded Iran's unconditional surrender.
So we’ve gone from assassination threats and military actions to diplomacy. Trump knows that Iran repeatedly says they won’t give up their nuclear program and won’t surrender. They’re stalling and they are good at it. The next question is what will Israel do?
Israel Can Go It Alone
Prime Minister Netanyahu says in an article from World Israel News that Israel can take out Iran’s nuclear sites even without the help of the US:
On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Kan News that Israel can hit and destroy Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, even the Fordo underground facility.
Some think that Israel can’t take out Iran’s nuclear sites on their own. The Pm disagrees:
When asked about the statements of some security experts that Israel can’t destroy Iran’s underground nuclear facilities without the help of the US, Netanyahu replied, “We will achieve all our goals and hit all of their nuclear facilities. We have the capability to do that.”
One Iranian place provides the biggest challenge:
The Fordo nuclear facility is almost entirely buried under a mountain, and it is believed that only US “bunker buster” bombs can destroy it.
Netanyahu stated that Trump is free to make his mind up about helping out:
Whether US President Donald Trump “wants to join or not — that’s entirely his decision,” Netanyahu added.
“He’ll do what’s good for the United States, and I’ll do what’s good for the State of Israel,” says Netanyahu, and remarked, “as the saying goes — every contribution is welcome.”
One source said that the US president will decide in two days while we’ve heard from the White House itself that he may take longer:
A US official told The Times of Israel on Thursday that Trump would decide whether or not to join Israel’s military operation against Iran in 24-48 hours. However, the White House announced on Thursday night that Trump would render a decision on whether or not the US will be involved in the Iran war in two weeks.
Trump could be toying with Iran by thinking an olive branch of peace is being handed to them when in reality he is just getting geared up to drop the hammer on them. He’s done it before when he said that he was holding back Israel from attacking and the next day Israel attacked. If there was one statement that epitomizes Trump it’s this one:
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, he said, “I may do it, I may not do it. Nobody knows what I’m going to do.” However, the president also described Iran as “totally defenseless” and hinted that the US has issued its “ultimate ultimatum.”
I pray that Trump helps out Israel by using their bunker buster bombs and offers substantial missile defense to stop Iran’s constant attacks on Israel. However, Netanyahu says that Israel can do it by themselves and I’ve said all along that this war will be Israel’s to win alone and perhaps that will be the case. Hang on, because Israel may have some tricks up their sleeves that no one knows about now. And it also helps to have God fighting for you, too.
