Israel At War – Day 354

Asking For Help

Dropping Like Flies

The IDF struck a building in Beirut that took out more Hezbollah terrorists as we read in an article from The Jerusalem Post:

The IDF eliminated Hezbollah's rocket chief, Ibrahim Muhammad Kabisi, in Beirut on Tuesday afternoon.

As in past days, more terrorists were with Kabisi at the time:

Additional Hezbollah commanders from the rocket unit were with Kabisi at the time of the strike.

Kabisi has long been on Israel’s radar for numerous attacks on Israel:

Kabisi planned the kidnap terror attack in Mount Dov in the year 2000 in which Hezbollah terrorists kidnapped and killed St.-Sgt. Benyamin (Benny) Avraham, St.-Sgt. Adi Avitan and St.-Sgt. Omar Sawaid, whose bodies were returned to Israel for burial in 2004.

He is over their missile units, missiles aimed and shot at Israel and as such is a major loss for Hezbollah right now when they are wanting to use them to attack:

Kabisi was the chief of the terror group's various missile units, including precise missiles, the IDF said, adding that over the years and during the recent war, he had been responsible for the projectiles fired on the Israeli home front.

His history shows he has no love for the Jewish nation:

Kabisi, who joined Hezbollah in the 80s, held several roles in the terror group, during which he was responsible for the advancement of terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli citizens.

Israel is changing its tactics now and appears to be neutralizing both the military capabilities of Hezbollah, but also its leaders who are planning future attacks:

Previously, the IDF assassinated top sub-commanders of Kabisi, but they were operating outside of Beirut.

With one exception on July 30, it is only since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah reached a much higher crescendo last week that the IDF has been targeting the highest-level Hezbollah officials in Beirut itself.

On Friday, the IDF killed Hezbollah Radwan special forces commander Ibrahim Aqil and around 15 other sub-commanders, and on Monday, the air force attempted to assassinate Ali Karaki, Hezbollah’s third in command, the last remaining living member of a triumvirate of top military advisers to Hezbollah chief Hassan Sayyed Nasrallah.

It should be clear that now not only does the IDF have a target on back of the leader of Hamas, Yahyah Sinwar, but now even Hassan Nasrallah who leads Hezbollah. While there may be people who can take their positions, if we’ve been paying attention, the people directly below them are dropping like flies.

Not Getting Help

Instead of being the protector of Hamas, Hezbollah is reeling from incessant attacks from the IDF and is reaching out to Iran for help, but as we see in a report from The Times Of Israel that help isn’t coming:

Hezbollah asked its Iranian patrons to attack Israel as the Israel Defense Forces increased pressure on the Lebanese terror group over the past week, but so far, Tehran has rebuffed the request, US media reported Tuesday.

But the reason could be more political than anything else:

Two Israeli officials cited by the Axios news site said that the Iranians told Hezbollah that “the timing isn’t right” for it to intervene because Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is in New York for the UN General Assembly.

The pleas for help aren’t new, either. Hezbollah still wants Iran to help them respond to numerous assassinations by Israel:

Hezbollah asked the Iranians to attack as part of their response to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran two months ago, according to the officials and an unnamed Western diplomat.

The IDF still hasn’t officially taken credit for that:

Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in the assassination of Haniyeh, who was killed in a guesthouse in Tehran hours after attending the swearing-in ceremony for (President) Pezeshkian. Nevertheless, Iran and Hamas have both blamed Jerusalem and vowed to retaliate.

Iran doesn’t want to get their proverbial hands dirty nor does Israel want to give them more of a reason to do so:

The sources said that the “Iranians expressed reservation about joining the fight against Israel now and didn’t give a positive response.”

Furthermore, a senior Israeli security source told Axios that the Israel Defense Forces has received instructions from the security cabinet to avoid carrying out actions that would give Tehran a reason to join the fight.

They Want International Help

The Iranian president is pleading his case at the United Nations:

The report came after Pezeshkian said Tuesday that Hezbollah “cannot stand alone” against Israel, in an interview with CNN translated from Persian to English.

His comments came after he was asked if Iran should be trying to keep Hezbollah in check:

He called on the international community to “not allow Lebanon to become another Gaza,” in response to a question on whether Iran would use its influence with Hezbollah to urge restraint.

Hezbollah knows that Iran did leave it’s comfort zone earlier in the year so it’s not like they can’t do it:

Tehran carried out an unprecedented missile and drone attack on Israel in April after several members of its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in an Iranian consular building in Damascus in a strike blamed on Israel.

Iran mostly encourages and supplies its proxies:

Iran provides financial and military backing to Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, and a number of other terror groups in Iraq and Syria that have been attacking Israel on a regular basis since the start of the war in Gaza.

All of this pleading for help comes on the heels of Israel getting extremely serious about allowing its citizens to safely live in the north again and really adding it to the goals of this war:

The IDF said Tuesday that it had struck more than 1,600 Hezbollah sites over the previous day — mostly weapons stored within homes — marking its heaviest airstrikes against the terror group in its history.

According to the Lebanese, their losses are growing:

The Lebanon health ministry said Tuesday that nearly 600 people, including 35 children, were killed in the strikes across Lebanon. The figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

It doesn’t look like either side is stopping:

Hezbollah has fired hundreds of rockets deep into northern Israel over the past several days, wounding several. Fighting between Israel and the Lebanese terror group has been ongoing for the past 11 months — since Hezbollah started launching missiles at Israel on October 8, one day after the Hamas massacre in southern Israel — with violence spiking over the past few days since Israel began a sustained offensive against Hezbollah’s missile capabilities.

You already know that I believe that there will be the fulfillment of the Psalm 83 war sooner than later which would be an all-out attack on Israel from all sides. I felt that Hezbollah would be a prominent player in those events and now I’m wondering how big a player they will be once Israel is done with them. The Arab world that feared Hezbollah is now letting out a collective sigh of relief as the IDF is mostly having its way with them. Is Hezbollah holding back or are they becoming a paper tiger? Or maybe Iran is holding them back until all the other pieces are in place. Regardless, all of these enemies of Israel still want all Jews to die and the nation of Israel to cease to exist. I’m not making that up out of whole cloth – it’s in their charters and their public statements. They forget one major thing and that is that the God of all creation is on the side of Israel and always has been. The major news agencies won’t tell you that, but I will. And will also tell you to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, a command with a promise.
