Israel At War – Day 343

More War Fronts

Changing Focus To Hezbollah

We read in a report from CBN.com that the IDF is turning it’s attention to Hezbollah and terrorism growing in the West Bank and even Jordan. First we look at Hezbollah:

As Israel scores military wins both in Gaza and the north, the focus of the war seems poised to shift to Lebanon, as concerns grow over the possibility of Jordan becoming radicalized against the Jewish state.

As we heard before, Hamas is nowhere as strong as they once were in Gaza:

Israel's military has largely dismantled Hamas' Rafah Brigade, eliminating more than 2,200 terrorists and destroying nearly eight miles of terror tunnels – some 80 percent of the underground tunnel network beneath the Philadelphi Corridor.

This allows the Israel Defense Forces easier access to destroy the many tunnels around Rafah that link Gaza and Egypt. Hamas used those tunnels to smuggle vast amounts of weapons into Gaza.

The IDF leaders now feel that they need to address Hezbollah in the north more:

As Israel increasingly gains the upper hand over Hamas in the south, the IDF is looking north to launch a major operation against the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant confirmed, "The center of gravity is moving to the north. We are nearing the completion of our tasks in the south."

Hezbollah, obviously sensing that Hamas in running on fumes is increasing its attacks on Israel:

This week, Hezbollah showed it's still a threat, hitting Israel with 100 projectiles on Wednesday and 60 more on Thursday.

On Friday a swarm of drones from Hezbollah rained down on the Upper Galilee area again showing the attacks are ramping up. The IDF will hit back:

As it strikes back, Israel is already targeting areas in Lebanon and Syria to weaken the terrorist group before possibly launching an all-out war to remove Hezbollah's daily threat.

The Lebanese frequently must dig through the rubble after Israeli drone strikes.

Earlier this week, Israel took out an underground Iranian missile factory in Syria.

The Israel Defense Minister told his soldiers this:

This week, Gallant visited the troops who are likely to take part in a northern ground invasion.

He told them, "And this thing (Israel's war force) is a ready arrow, ready for action. We will know when to activate it."

Is there a peaceful way to stop this looming war against Hezbollah? Some think so:

Meanwhile, diplomats, such as the European Union's foreign policy chief, insist there's a peaceful solution.

Josep Borrell stated Thursday, "War is never inevitable. It depends on the will to avoid it."

From my perspective, unless these terrorists and the countries that harbor them finally admit that Israel as a nation exists and has a right to the land they’re on even now and oh, quit saying they want to annihilate all Jews then we can’t avoid war.

Changing Focus To Jordan

Recent voting in Jordan could spell trouble there now:

Trouble could be brewing on another border as Islamists just scored big wins in Jordan's latest elections.

While the amount of seats won by supporters of Hamas seems small, it represents attention:

Palestinians make up at least half of the population in the Hashemite Kingdom, where the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood – the group from which Hamas was born – won 32 of the 138 seats in Jordan's House of Representatives, garnering a half-million votes.

There are signs that the population is becoming more and more fanatical:

Observers warn it's a victory for the radical Islamic group. Many Jordanians have already been radicalized, as they chanted in the streets, "All Jordanians belong to Hamas," and "Death to Israel."

And there are more signs:

One Islamist praised his son's murder of three Israeli guards at the Allenby Bridge Crossing between Jordan and Israel on Sunday.

Thiab al-Jazi declared, "I’m honored and proud that I've raised a hero who carried out a martyrdom operation in defense of Islam and Arabism."

Prime Minister Netanyahu realizes that Jordan could become another war front:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week visited his nation's longest border – nearly 200 miles shared with Jordan – making sure his forces are ready to handle any threats coming across it.

Netanyahu exhorted, "It is important for us to ensure that this border remains a border of peace – and security."

As if we need more concern, Iran would like to have their guy in charge in Jordan:

Some experts say Iran is pushing for the overthrow of Jordan's King Abdullah. If radical Islamists were to gain control of Jordan, it could pose one of the biggest and nearest dangers to Israel.

The PM adds this:

The prime minister cautioned the challenges along the border have grown.

He stated, "There is an attempt to smuggle both terrorists and weapons across from Jordan into Judea and Samaria and into the cities of Israel."

Changing Focus To The West Bank

We now see in a report from The Jerusalem Post that there are tunnels being built in the West Bank near a hospital:

In joint counterterrorism operations conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel Security Agency (ISA), and Israel Border Police, four terrorists were killed in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams areas.

The offensive happened a few days ago and took out quite a few terrorists:

Three were killed in an aerial strike on Wednesday, while the fourth was killed during close-quarters combat with security forces. Among those killed was Muhammad Abu Ataya, suspected of killing Staff-Sergeant-Major Maksim Rizhkov of the Border Police’s Yamas unit on October 19, 2023. Approximately 15 other terrorists were also injured during the operation.

And then they found the underground tunnel:

Additionally, an underground complex was found adjacent to a hospital in the Tulkarm refugee camp. The structure, which had an entrance but no exit, is under investigation by security forces, who plan to dismantle it.

More and more terrorist activity is being dealt with in the West Bank:

In a separate 48-hour operation in Tubas, Tamun, and Far'a, security forces encountered a terrorist who hurled explosive devices and was subsequently killed in an exchange of fire. Forces discovered a vehicle rigged with explosives, including a long-range detonation system, which was dismantled.

They were heavily armed and are making bombs:

During these operations, security forces confiscated a significant number of weapons, including sniper rifles, M-16s, handguns, and other weaponry. Four bomb manufacturing labs and communication centers equipped with cameras were dismantled in Tulkarm, along with a machine used to manufacture weapons. Numerous improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also neutralized.

The IDF is not taking these threats lightly:

Additionally, five armed terrorists were targeted and killed by aircraft in Tubas.

The IDF will continue operations aimed at preventing terrorist activity in northern Samaria and the Jordan Valley.

I know I say it all the time, but these places are lining up perfectly with what I see in the Psalm 83 war. Israel is going to need to deal with the threats all around them once and for all and that prophetic war is part of what we see now. Pray that God will give Israel all it needs to prevail.
