Israel At War – Day 333

The World’s Gone Crazy Pt 1

Loving What Is Right

Knowing what the Bible says and doing it are sadly two different things. When it comes to serving God a few scriptures make it clear that we should love what God love’s and hate what God hates. Here is what I’m talking about overall:

There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven that are hated by Him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that kill those who are without guilt, 18 a heart that makes sinful plans, feet that run fast to sin, 19 a person who tells lies about someone else, and one who starts fights among brothers. (Prov 6:16-19, NLV)

I’ll take a closer look at this list in my next podcast, but for now I’m going to turn to a few others that concern Israel specifically. You see regardless of what some say, all the promises made to Israel starting all the way back in Genesis are still being honored today. No, they haven’t transferred to the Church as some say. And Israel is still the apple of His eye:

For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. 9 For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me. (Zech 2:8-9, NKJV)

Sometimes I like how another translation renders it:

“The Lord of Glory has sent me against the nations that oppressed you, for he who harms you sticks his finger in Jehovah’s eye! 9 “I will smash them with my fist and their slaves will be their rulers! Then you will know it was the Lord Almighty who sent me. (TLB)

But this one makes it very clear how God feels about Israel:

God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the One of Glory who sent me on my mission, commenting on the godless nations who stripped you and left you homeless, said, “Anyone who hits you, hits me—bloodies my nose, blackens my eye. Yes, and at the right time I’ll give the signal and they’ll be stripped and thrown out by their own servants.” Then you’ll know for sure that God-of-the-Angel-Armies sent me on this mission. (MSG)

These promises haven’t been revoked, reversed or reassigned. Although modern day Israel is far from serving Him, He is far from rejecting them. And Christians and really all the world need to remember this.

God Is Watching

Right now we are seeing leaders both in and out of governments bashing Prime Minister Netanyahu as he continues to navigate the pressures and conditions of the war against terrorism in his nation. They demand the war be fought with their conditions and then criticize him for going too slow in eliminating Hamas. Currently Hamas killed 6 hostages in cold blood and instead of being roundly condemned for more than a few hours, the attention is once again turned to Netanyahu for not getting a deal done to release the remaining hostages. The PM gave a speech yesterday putting things back into perspective giving anyone who would listen information about why it is important to blame Hamas for no deal now and how much he has compromised on the deals that even the US only days earlier stated that He agreed to. But rather that castigate and condemn the terrorists who won’t agree to it, the world seems to want Israel to make themselves less safe and open to Hamas getting back to full strength to get back only a third of the remaining hostages and release terrorists already in prison to go back to helping Hamas. Make no mistake about it, God sees exactly what is happening and has plans to help Israel prevail, but He also is taking detailed notes for those opposing His chosen people. As those verses tell us, you don’t poke Him in the eye and get away with it. Sadly, there are a lot of Christians who are in those notes right now.

Don’t Give Up Land

As more and more international leaders want Israel to basically give back Gaza to terrorists by wanting them to leave the Philadelphi Corridor, God is looking down and saying no more. How do I know this? It’s right in the Bible:

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for what they did to My people Israel. They have sent My people out among the different nations, and have divided up My land. (Joel 3:2, NLV)

As I keep saying, Israel will win this war against terrorism and will expand their borders taking back land that was promised to them as we see in the map I used for my heading. All that land was promised to Israel way back in Genesis 15. Even now, if you look at a map you see how very small Israel is in comparison to all the nations around them, all of which won’t recognize their reason to exist and who have sworn to drive them out of the land they are on now. Hamas wants to survive to carry out another October 7th and I’m not making that up. They have actually said that. And Iran’s axis of terror wants to be part of it this time. On top of that the old canard of a two-state solution keeps coming up over and over again as a way to obtain peace in the region. If as a believer you support that failed political offering then you are putting yourself in with those nations God will judge. Do you want to be on the blessing or cursing side of Genesis 12:3:

I will bring good to those who are good to you. And I will curse those who curse you. Good will come to all the families of the earth because of you.” (NLV)

As we always pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the second part of that verse also promises prosperity for doing it:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. (Ps 122:6, KJV)

Why on earth would any Bible believing Christian read these verses and promote the cursing side of them? If you want to love what God loves then you will want to love and support Israel even if it is not easy to do so. Trust me when I tell you that it is not going to get easier to do so. In fact it will get harder and harder. But I for one want to pray for God’s chosen people.
