A Nation on Edge

The Lord GOD does nothing, "unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7), and this week that secret has a familiar name: the power grid. On August 26, 2026, President Trump signed an executive order declaring a national emergency to secure the nation's bulk power system, the same day journalist Steve Ram reported that the Department of Energy had been successfully breached by China-linked hackers. Just days earlier, a former FERC chairman warned that a coordinated strike on nine key substations could plunge the entire country into darkness for up to eighteen months, a figure now circulating from the New York Times Magazine to kitchen tables. The same week, the Army announced plans to build micro nuclear reactors at five bases, a quiet admission the grid itself is no longer trusted. None of this is new to the prophetic community. The eighteen-month number makes the rounds every few years, and it did again this week on Joseph Z's broadcast, in Perry Stone's earlier warnings, and in a prayer word from Brandon Biggs leaning on Stone's reporting. What follows is who is actually saying what, and what Scripture says about the darkness they describe.

Revelation Over Information

Joseph Z opened his September 1 broadcast by naming the eighteen-month blackout narrative, tracing it to the same DOE breach and executive order above, then handed the fear to Scripture: "Information is trumped and defeated by revelation." He drew a line from the darkness of Egypt to the light in Goshen, and from the 1929 crash to God's provision in the Depression, both from his book Breaking Hell's Economy. He also named two other fears he's prayed against for years: a tactical nuclear strike and the long-standing Yellowstone supervolcano warning. But his conclusion wasn't doom. He said plainly a full blackout isn't "for today," and pointed to a word of a serpent representing the pressure, met by a mongoose, immune to its venom and unafraid to strike back, a picture of the Church rising against the intimidation.

Perry Stone Heard It First

Months before this week's headlines, Perry Stone was already sounding the alarm. In a May 2026 teaching, Stone said a Beltway contact told him directly to prepare for grid blackouts and infrastructure failures, citing solar flares (the historic Carrington Event), cyberattacks, terrorism, and the strain AI data centers put on local power. He framed it as preparation, not panic: "Don't worry. Don't fret. Prepare," quoting Proverbs on seeing danger ahead, and demonstrating solar chargers and backup lighting he keeps on hand.

Brandon Biggs Confirms It

Watchman Brandon Biggs picked up the thread directly from Stone. In a recent update, Biggs said the Lord had him praying against a coming darkness, and Stone's warning confirmed what he'd already sensed in prayer. "There's something going on with the power grid," Biggs said, calling Stone's video the outside confirmation he needed. Like Stone, he framed it as a call to prayer and preparation, not a countdown.

The Other Darkness: A Prophecy Older Than the Grid

Grid failure isn't the only kind of blackout on the watchlist this year. An older tradition, the Three Days of Darkness, traces to eighteenth-century Catholic visionary Anna Maria Taigi and is often paired with the ninth plague over Egypt, "thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days" (Exodus 10:21-22) and Revelation's fifth bowl, poured out so "his kingdom became full of darkness" (Revelation 16:10). That old tradition, not any modern prophet, is also the source of the stay inside, close and cover your windows instruction some viewers have heard attached to this week's talk. One summary of the prophecy states, "Believers are warned to stay inside, with windows shut and covered and doors locked," language from the Taigi and Jahenny material itself, worth knowing before crediting it to whichever modern voice a viewer heard it from. Video reposts credit Amanda Grace with a word titled 3 Days of Darkness Begins in USA from late December 2025, but that title couldn't be matched to a dated word on her own site or official channels, only to reposts of the kind flagged below for Julie Green, so it's noted as unverified. Green has her own long-running version of this darkness language, older than anyone else on the watchlist and traceable to her own site, worth a closer look.

Julie Green: A Timeline of Darkness

Green's darkness words on her own ministry site stretch back three years in a clear pattern. In The Release of My Eagle Has Begun (Sept. 16, 2022), she said, "The days of darkness over D.C. will be visible to this Nation," tying it to judgment on Washington. In A Great Darkness Is Coming (June 12, 2023), she warned, "A gross and dense darkness will fill this Earth," a season to prepare homes and spirits for. A month later, in The Coming Darkness (July 18, 2023), she struck the same balance Kunneman strikes below: "My Glory and My light will destroy all of that darkness," describing believers as living in their own Goshen in the middle of it. A wave of reposted videos this spring carried the Three Days of Darkness title directly, the most prominent dated March 20 and captioned What God Told Me About The 3 Days Of Darkness Prophecy. The actual word behind that date, on Green's own site, is titled The Deep State Will Fall, and a New Government Will Be Formed, and its darkness line reads, "A time when the world will go from darkness to My glorious light," a transition, not a three-day event. The repost channel appears to have retitled it to match a trending search term, overstating what she said. Other 2026 videos under the same title couldn't be matched to a dated word on her own site, so they're unverified.

Kunneman's Balance: Darkness That Doesn't Get the Last Word

Hank Kunneman has used darkness language often this year too, and belongs in this lineup, not off to the side, as the other half of the same picture. In his June 14, 2026 word, he declared "the forces of darkness have suffered great damage and defeat," echoing Isaiah's promise that "darkness shall cover the earth... but the LORD will arise over you" (Isaiah 60:2), which he's quoted before. It's the same shape Green used in The Coming Darkness above: darkness named honestly, then answered. Kent Christmas, Robin Bullock, Dutch Sheets, Tim Sheets, Veronika West, Timothy Dixon, Barry Wunsch, Jennifer LeClaire, and Cindy Jacobs have addressed the broader shaking and collapse themes in The Prophetic Verdict for America and When All Nations Shake, but none currently has a word naming a blackout, literal or supernatural. Worth watching whether the rest of the watchlist echoes it in the days ahead.

Did Bo Polny and Robin Bullock Say to Stay Inside?

A claim has circulated that Bo Polny and Robin Bullock are telling viewers to stay indoors and close their windows once the blackout hits. Checking Polny's own account complicates that story. A March 26, 2026 post carries the headline 5 Prophets Agree: Angel of Death Is Coming, Stay Inside!, but the text underneath is Polny pushing back, not endorsing it: "I can't go along with this," he wrote, arguing believers are covered by the blood of Jesus wherever they are and don't need to hide from a death angel. The headline made the rounds as if it were his own word, when the post itself disagrees with it. No matching statement from Robin Bullock could be found on his own channel, so that part of the claim is unverified.

The Mongoose Is on the Scene

This is where Joseph Z's mongoose belongs, because Scripture describes the same posture. Jesus told His disciples they would "hear of wars and rumors of wars" and that "nation will rise against nation... and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places" (Matthew 24:6-7), calling it all "the beginning of sorrows" (Matthew 24:8), a phrase that literally means birth pains: real, and building toward something, but not the delivery itself. A blackout, if it ever came, would fit the pattern of labor before the Tribulation, not the Tribulation's actual events. David wrote that the believer need not fear "the terror by night... nor the pestilence that walks in darkness" (Psalm 91:5-6), the passage Joseph Z leaned on, and it's the assurance behind his mongoose: pressure is real, but it doesn't get the final word. None of this is a reason to dismiss the warnings. Paul told the Thessalonians, "Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21): prepare where it's wise, watch where it's warranted, refuse the fear either way. Scripture already answers what happens when darkness falls on a nation. During the ninth plague, Egypt sat in "thick darkness" for three days, yet "all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings" (Exodus 10:22-23). That's the promise worth holding onto: not that darkness will never come near God's people, but that He will shelter His own from it, the way He did in Goshen. It's always wise to keep a flashlight, water, and a few days of supplies on hand for an ordinary outage, but relying on God is a far better plan than relying on a bunker.
