A Look at the Teaching from Robin Bullock and Amanda Grace
The Cyrus/Trump Connection
If you've been anywhere near prophetic media this year, you've almost certainly run into a comparison that keeps coming up between President Trump and the Persian king Cyrus the Great. This isn't a brand-new idea - charismatic teacher Lance Wallnau is generally credited with starting it back in 2015, after an early meeting with Trump led him to Isaiah 45 and the idea that Trump was a modern-day Cyrus figure. The comparison picked up real momentum in 2018, when an Israeli nonprofit called the Mikdash Educational Center minted a commemorative "Temple Coin" pairing Cyrus and Trump's images, timed to Trump's recognition of Jerusalem and the U.S. embassy move - a sign that at least some voices in Israel itself saw the same parallel worth marking. It got a fresh push recently when Amanda Grace hosted Robin and Robin Bullock of Church International for a broadcast built entirely around this parallel. Robin Bullock is the one laying out the historical Cyrus material point by point, with Amanda Grace and Chris chiming in along the way to connect it to current events. I want to walk you through exactly what they said, section by section, so you can see the whole argument the way they built it - and then I'll give you my own read on it at the end.
Who Was Cyrus the Great?
Robin Bullock opens by grounding this in Old Testament pattern-recognition - the sons of Issachar, he says, "had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do," and he argues prophets today need that same discernment of timelines. From there he lays out the history: Cyrus the Great was a Persian king who rode out to his final battle at age 70. Bullock stresses that Cyrus "didn't like war" - he built what Bullock calls "a board of peace," absorbing nations as allies rather than conquering them outright, and only fought as a last resort. This is between 539 and 530 BC, a season Bullock describes as one of "great peace and prosperity," with nations swearing loyalty to Cyrus because of his generosity rather than being forced into submission.
The Massagetae, the Marriage Proposal, and the Trap
Bullock then narrates the turn: Iranian nomadic tribes called the Massagetae began raiding Persia's borders. When their king died, Cyrus proposed marriage to the new queen, Tomyris, hoping to secure peace - she refused him. That refusal, in Bullock's telling, left Cyrus with "only one option, and that was to fight." He details the campaign: Cyrus's army reaching the river, his use of boats and archer towers, the queen's offer to let him cross and meet on open ground, and the advice of Cyrus's ally Croesus to cross and fight rather than wait to be attacked at home.
Amanda Grace chimes in here mainly to affirm and redirect the history back toward Bullock ("Mhm," "Yes," "go ahead"), letting him carry the narrative. Bullock goes on to describe how Cyrus set a trap - leaving behind a camp stocked with riches and food, guarded lightly - which Tomyris's son raided. When the raiding party got drunk celebrating their haul instead of reporting back, Cyrus's main force overran them and captured the son. Cyrus released him as a gesture of mercy; the son, ashamed, killed himself, and a furious Tomyris then attacked Cyrus directly. Bullock lists three ancient accounts of what happened next - one where Cyrus dies from a battle wound in the thigh, one where he's rescued mid-battle by a trumpet blast and allied cavalry but dies of the wound afterward anyway, and one where he wins, goes home, and dies in peace.
Bullock's Direct Parallel to Trump and Iran
This is where Bullock makes his application explicit: "This is an exact parallel of Trump right now." He points to the aforementioned minting of a Trump-Cyrus commemorative coin as a marker that "Israel recognized him as Cyrus," the moving of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem on Israel's 70th anniversary, and the movement of U.S. warships and aircraft into the Mediterranean and the Strait of Hormuz as the modern equivalent of Cyrus's river crossing and boat-mounted archers. In Bullock's structure, the Strait of Hormuz functions as Trump's "leverage," mirroring the geographic chokepoint Cyrus had to cross. He frames a recent 60-day U.S.-brokered understanding with Iran as either a deliberate trap - echoing Cyrus's baited camp - or a real forfeiture of leverage, and notes that the arrangement was reached in the sixth month for 60 days in 2026, which he reads numerically as "666." Chris chimes in briefly at this point to agree that this points toward the Antichrist "trying to come about before it's time," and Amanda Grace adds that the Massagetae are historically linked to the Scythians, whom she connects to the Ezekiel 38 lineage of Meshech, Tubal, and Magog.
The Death Accounts and the "Leverage" Warning
Bullock returns to the three ancient death accounts in more detail, emphasizing the version in which Cyrus's horse was startled by war elephants, threw him, and an enemy warrior struck him "on the thigh" before Persian forces rescued him and a Scythian ally named Amorges arrived with cavalry at the decisive moment. Bullock's point is that in every account but one, the wound in the thigh precedes Cyrus's death - and he ties this to a warning that if Trump "gives up his leverage" the way Cyrus gave up his hostage-leverage over Tomyris's son, the outcome could go the same direction: in Bullock's words, applied to a modern presidency, that would mean leaving office rather than dying.
Amanda Grace's Dream and the Isaiah Connection
Amanda Grace introduces her own material here: a dream from October 27, 2023, during Trump's indictments, in which she saw him on a golf course with a bruised, wounded leg, swinging a putter in an unconventional motion and sinking an improbable shot. She and Bullock connect the wounded leg in her dream to the thigh wound in the Cyrus accounts, and Chris suggests the shot in the dream looked like "an eagle" in golf terms - which becomes a bridge to eagle imagery: Cyrus's standard was a bird of prey, America's national symbol is an eagle, and Bullock recalls a large eagle image posted online near the White House and another appearing on screen behind Trump during a World Economic Forum address. Bullock ties this to Isaiah 46:11, which speaks of God "calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country," a passage historically understood to refer to Cyrus, and to Isaiah 45, noting Trump was the nation's 45th president.
Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. (Isaiah 46:11, NKJV)
Additional Numerical and Historical Parallels
From here the conversation broadens into several more numerological and historical connections, mostly introduced by Bullock and affirmed by Amanda Grace and Chris. These include: Trump's two presidencies (45 and 47) summing to "911"; a claimed two-year prophetic window from 2025 to 2027 that Bullock reduces digit-by-digit to the same number; the 1683 Siege of Vienna (nicknamed the "Golden Apple," paired with New York's "Big Apple" and Trump's "golden age" language), whose date Bullock also reduces to 911; and a claim that the Ottoman commander's name at that siege, Kara Mustafa Pasha, contains a hidden reference to New York's current mayor. Amanda Grace adds a personal note that she was born in the Bronx, and both she and Bullock connect a separate earlier prophecy about a "monster" rising from beneath New York's streets to the mayor's midnight swearing-in ceremony at a former subway station. Bullock closes this section by referencing an earlier personal prophetic word he says he received - that Trump was nearing "his next assignment" unless he chose a third term - and connects this to discussion of the 2028 election as a shmita year.
A Few Observations
I want to close, like I always do, with my own take - offered with real respect for what Robin Bullock, Amanda Grace, and Chris are doing here. What strikes me most is the history itself. Isaiah naming Cyrus by name roughly a century and a half before he was even born is one of the most remarkable predictive prophecies in the entire Old Testament. It doesn't need any help to be impressive. One thing worth knowing, just so you can weigh it rightly: the detailed war narrative, the three competing accounts of Cyrus's death, and that farewell speech Bullock read all come from ancient Greek historians writing centuries after Cyrus lived - Herodotus, Ctesias, and Xenophon - and their three versions of his death don't even agree with one another. None of that is in Isaiah, Ezra, or Chronicles; the Bible itself only tells us that Cyrus was named in advance and that he issued the decree freeing Israel and authorizing the temple rebuild. That's not a knock on anyone in this broadcast - preachers and teachers have leaned on secular history to illustrate a point for as long as there've been preachers and teachers, and there's real value in it. I just think it's good for you to know which pieces come from Scripture itself and which come from outside sources, so you can hold each one appropriately. I don't get the sense anyone here set out to mislead. The heart behind this broadcast seems to be genuine prayer for the nation and a real love for God's word. Bullock clearly knows this ancient history well, and Amanda Grace is careful to present her dream as her own experience rather than demanding it carry the weight of Scripture.
Test What You Hear
The one place I'd gently encourage some caution is the numerology. Those connections are genuinely fun to trace, and I understand why they feel meaningful in the moment. But they stand on different ground than a named, textual prophecy like Isaiah 45. So hold that layer loosely, and let it be an invitation to go back to the text yourself rather than to lean on the pattern alone:
Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, NKJV)
That's the same posture Scripture calls all of us to take with any prophetic word - not out of suspicion, but out of love for getting it right, the same way the Bereans tested what they heard:
These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11, NKJV)
And allow Holy Spirit to take you by the hand as He leads you into the truth of this:
But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]. (John 16:13. AMP)
