One Call, That’s All

Those of us who religiously followed prophetic words starting back in 2016 noticed a trend that exploded surrounding the 2020 elections moving forward. That trend was the motif of exposing the plans of the enemy to block God’s plans for America. Trust me when I tell you that we listened as people like Kat Kerr famously told us the plans would be revealed starting with a phone call:

If you will remember, one of the things [God] had me say was that Trump would win by a landslide. In their human mind, they already put together what they think that means. But many times, as we know in the word or even just from experience ourselves—especially as a prophet—that doesn't ever mean what man thinks that means.

Kerr said a landslide begins when a few small stones strike and loosen larger stones, and that is exactly what will happen with the exposure of voter fraud.

The thing [God] kept saying to me this morning, “When you begin to feel the ground move, [it] means the landslide of exposure is about to begin.” And then he said, “It will all start with one phone call.” Those who have been perpetrating the lie—they've been paid to commit lies or stealing or cheating—will begin to get very nervous. They're actually already nervous. And let me tell you, conviction is going to come upon some of them in the lower levels; that's what he meant about the landslide, the smaller rocks move first, which pulls the bigger ones down. And that's what he meant when he said, “Trump will win by a landslide.” So, there you go. That's the difference between revelation and what man in their head thinks that means."

This is what Kerr told Elijah Streams shortly after the November 2020 elections. And she wasn’t alone. Similar words of eventual victory came from Kent Christmas on his Saturday podcasts:

This is not political. This is not about Donald Trump or Joe Biden or politics or Democrats or Republicans. This is a war between Heaven and Hell and it's about the destiny of this nation.

One of the things that God is doing [is] He's knocking the silliness out of the Church. We have for so long had a haphazard and lackadaisical approach. And we've been so used to everything just working for us that we just assume that it's going to work. Satan is not going to give up and permit the Church to assume its destiny, he continued. The Lion of Judah is going to roar again in this nation. This story, the ending has not yet been written. You cannot listen to what the Enemy is saying. You cannot allow the indicators that you're seeing in the natural begin to shape your faith.

I could cite others from back then, but you get the picture. I would give you direct sources but it appears many of the YouTube videos were flagged and removed. That happened a lot back then, but I digress.

Bold Proclamations

Although he doesn’t claim to be a prophet, Christian television host Sid Roth was interviewing Robin Bullock and his wife on 10/20/20 and suddenly said this:

And I am going to proclaim that President Trump will be President of the United States. Hallelujah. In Jesus’ name. I am going to proclaim that the Republicans will take the Senate and the House. I am going to proclaim that the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade. And I am going to proclaim that everyone watching us will move in the golden global glory that is going to so increase that each person will be doing a hundred times more than any minister in history because of the culmination of all of the flows of God’s Spirit are about going to be in totality now. Why? Because God loves the world, and He wants the whole world to come to know Him. And therefore, He chose America to be a nation under God. Hallelujah. And we’ll proclaim the good news to the four corners of the earth. I seal that in Yeshua’s name. Amen. Amen.

In the same video Bullock added this:

This is a couple things that came up in my spirit that I have to tell you. One is this: Israel was created because God loved Israel. America was created because we loved God. And we’re the two nations created in the love of God. The two nations that are created in the love of God.

This is what I heard. You hear prophets say this, and I’m not disputing this. I’m just saying I’m about to say something: that President Trump will win by landslide.

And the Lord said this to me to say to you: remember this — in landslides, it carries a lot of debris with it. Landslides carry a massive amount of debris as they fall.

And remember this when it happens, because the landslide don’t look pretty a lot of times, but it’s still carrying power and momentum as it moves, and it’s going to carry this debris with it.

So that’s one thing I heard from the Lord.

That sure sounds like Trump was going to win in 2020 which didn’t happen.

Watch Me Work

I recall listening to Pastor George Pearsons deliver a word just after the 2020:

I'm not happy. I'm not happy with what you're doing to my nation, and I'm not happy about what you're doing to my man—now he's speaking about Mr. Trump right there. He has yielded to me. He's endeavored to follow my word. And I am not happy with this that is going on right now.

Pearsons then declared that he had seen God angrily roll up his sleeves and declare, "Watch me work."

I made sure I found the prophecy and I did. It was just as powerful today as it was back then:

This is a word from the Lord, and he's not happy with what's going on. He's not happy with some of these things that have been decided, and he's not happy with the opposite direction that he wants to go where abortion is concerned, where the Supreme Court is concerned, where religious liberty is concerned, where Israel is concerned. And he's saying, 'Watch me work. Lord, we're gonna see you work. We're gonna see you work in the midst of this. And we invoke the name of Jesus and take authority over the powers and the principalities and the spirit of communism that is trying to infiltrate, overtake, and attack this nation right now. You bow your knee to the name of the Lord Jesus! You hear the voice of the Lord through this man of God. You have no authority in this. Watch me work.

This was on November 5th of 2020. I thought we would see immediate results. But we didn’t. Trump didn’t return as President until 2024. However, in hindsight He was working all along. Isaiah 55:8-9 correctly advises us why:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and My ways are not your ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. (NLV)

So What Happened?

I had more examples to cite, but I think the point is made. Some prophetic voices like Jeremiah Johnson confessed that he was wrong and essentially blamed Trump for it because Trump didn’t deal with an issue with pride. Johnson initially doubled down on that Trump actually did win but the election was stolen, but later he recanted on that assertion and instead focused on the prophetic community addressing why so many missed Trump losing:

The evangelical figure, who has been dubbed a "Trump prophet," first apologized on January 7—the day after the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol by the former president's supporters. In that message, Johnson described some elements within the Christian prophetic movement as "deeply sick."

"I believe that this election cycle has revealed how desperately we need reformation in the prophetic movement," Johnson later said in a video posted in early February. "I have serious concerns for the charismatic-prophetic world that if we do not wake up, if we do not humble ourselves, there is greater judgment to come."

White evangelical Christians were a key base of support for Trump from his 2016 presidential campaign to the end of his presidency. About 8 in 10 white evangelicals said they backed Trump in 2016, according to exit polls at the time. The results were similar in 2020, with exit polls showing that between 76 percent and 81 percent of white evangelicals supported the former president over President Joe Biden. Many prominent evangelical leaders—such as Franklin Graham—went on to promote Trump's unfounded claims that the election was stolen by Biden and the Democrats.

Well here we are in 2026 and rather than the Christian prophetic movement being judged, they are stronger, bolder and more vocal than ever before. To be fair, some prophetic voices were judged, but they were for moral failure and not bad prophecies. Overall Johnson’s warnings were mostly for himself. And also, to be fair, some of those prophecies were fulfilled, just not in 2020, but in 2024. And that is where some reflection is needed.

Be Careful Of The Flesh

On this issue it is correct to see if our personal views are overtly or covertly influencing prophetic words. God’s voice is pure, but we hear Him through imperfect hearts. Our feelings, preferences, fears, loyalties, hopes, political views, and disappointments can color what we think God is saying. Scripture warns us that prophecy comes through partial human understanding:

“For we know in part and we prophesy in part” (1 Corinthians 13:9, NKJV).

That does not mean prophecy is false; it means it must be handled humbly. Paul says this:

“Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:20–21, NKJV)

We should not reject prophecy, but we also should not receive every impression without testing it. In other words don’t throw out the prophetic baby with the testing bath water. Also, the heart can deceive us:

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9, NKJV)

Strong emotion can feel spiritual, but intensity is not the same thing as the Holy Spirit. James warns us about that in this verse:

“…for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (James 1:20, NKJV).

In other words, human anger can sound righteous to us while still not carrying God’s heart. This matters especially when we already want a certain outcome. Proverbs says:

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts” (Proverbs 21:2, NKJV)

We can be convinced we are right while still needing God to purify our motives. So the posture should be: “Lord, purify what I heard from what I wanted.” We don’t reject the prophetic, but we hold it with humility, test it by Scripture, watch the fruit, seek wise counsel, and stay willing to be corrected. And that’s good advice period.
